
Bret O’Neil Whipple is a fourth generation Nevadan, born and raised on a cattle ranch in Lincoln County, Nevada. Today, he is an attorney, licensed to practice law in Arizona and Nevada. He is also a certified public accountant, licensed in Arizona, Nevada, New York, and Pennsylvania. Mr. Whipple is a graduate of Pahranagat Valley High School in Alamo, Nevada, where he served as a Nevada State Officer for the Future Farmers of America. He attended both the Community College of Southern Nevada and the University of Nevada Las Vegas before completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and graduating from the Wharton School of Business. During his college career he was a member of Ivy League Football Championship teams for the years 1984-1985 and 1985-1986. He earned his first Certified Public Accountant license in New York, where he worked for the mid-town accounting firm, Eisner & Co. In 1990, Mr. Whipple moved to Europe where he worked for a tax firm in Hannover, Germany. Following a tour in Europe, he attended the University of Arizona law school as a recipient of the Nevada WYCHE award. At the University of Arizona, Mr. Whipple was a writer for the Arizona Advocate and represented the University of Arizona at the National Jessup Moot Court competition in Houston, Texas. In 1995 he returned to Southern Nevada as an attorney and certified public accountant. Mr. Whipple practiced law at the Clark County Public Defender’s Office and taught tax and estate planning in the Continuing Education division of the Community College of Southern Nevada.
Currently, Mr. Whipple is a member of the Clark County Bar Association, the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the University of Pennsylvania and UNLV alumni associations. He continues to practice law with the Bankruptcy Law Center, LLC as well as practicing criminal defense through his own firm. As the president of his family’s privately-owned business, the Whipple Cattle Company, Inc., he remains active in the Nevada cattle industry.
Mr. Whipple is married to Paige Lynn Whipple, a former teacher in the Clark County School District and is the proud father of Hope Lynn Whipple and Shea O’Neil Whipple. He is also a fluent in German.
