How do I pay an attorney if I do not have any money?
During your free initial consultation, we will be able to determine if bankruptcy is an alternative for you.  Sometimes filing bankruptcy is not the right solution for a particular client or the client needs to wait a period of time prior to filing bankruptcy.  During that time, we will create a plan for you to pay your attorney’s fees.

Bankruptcy Law Center, LLC charges you only one comprehensive flat fee which is determined by the complexity of your case.  This flat rate includes the cost of the credit counseling and financial management course you are required to complete.  In addition, the flat fee includes the cost of obtaining your credit report and the filing fees charged by the bankruptcy court.  In short, you pay one amount and do not have to worry about hidden charges.  We do require that the fee be paid in full prior to filing your bankruptcy case as do all bankruptcy attorneys.  We will allow you to make payments if that is convenient for you so long as the entire fee is paid prior to filing your case.

In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case, there are additional attorney’s fees, but they are paid as part of the Chapter 13 Plan so again you only pay one fee to Bankruptcy Law Center and that includes the fees for classes, your credit report and the bankruptcy court’s filing fee.

The filing fee for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy is $299 and the filing fee for filing a Chapter 13 case is $274.   The credit counseling class and financial management classes each run $50 to $60 per person.  Again, all of these fees are included in our flat fee and you are not responsible for paying them.
